Blue Rose builds 500 houses at Budumburam
Blue Rose Company, an estate development agency operating in the country, is to build over 2000 houses at Budumburam in the Central Region, in the next few years.

According to the managing director of the company, Mr Eric Ebo Acquah, the company delivered over 100 houses to the Home Finance Company (HFC) Bank last year, and will complete the building of 500 houses by the close of the year.
Mr Acquah, announced this at a press briefing after a tour of the site by the deputy minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, Mr Sampson Ahi.
Housing delivery
Giving details of the project, Mr Acquah said the company planned to deliver the houses in two phases, explaining that under phase one, the company is currently constructing 500 houses, which would be ready by the close of the year.
He encouraged the public to patronise the houses, adding that they were affordable.
He said over the past 14 years, the company had provided 1,014 affordable houses for members of the public. He said they ranged from two-bedroom semi-detached, three-bedroom semi-detached and two-bedroom terrace to three-bedroom detached.
He was, however, quick to add that the government’s intervention was very crucial, since Blue Rose was challenged by the high interest rate of 27 per cent charged by the banks.
For his part, Mr Ahi pledged the government’s commitment to provide affordable houses to Ghanaians.
He said residential accommodation had become a big problem in the country and put the housing deficit as close to 1.8 million.
He described the intervention by Blue Rose as timely.
Partnership
Mr Ahi indicated that the government was ready to partner with Blue Rose Company and the HFC Bank to tackle the housing deficit and, therefore, encouraged local investors to come on board, since the government alone could not solve the problem.
He advised workers to make use of the available mortgage facilities to own houses.
The General Manager, Mortgage & Consumer Loans, HFC Bank, Mr Charles Bonsu, advised Ghanaians to patronise the houses of Blue Rose Company because they were affordable.
