He stressed the “when other African countries opted to use violent means in addressing dissatisfaction over election results, Ghanaians peacefully subjected themselves to the Supreme Court to address an election dispute”.

That alone, he said, should inform them that the institutions in Ghana were working perfectly to ensure that Ghana remained peaceful while its leaders and citizenry strived for the socio-economic development of the nation.

In an address, Daasebre Osei Bonsu, who is also the occupant of the Silver Stool of Ashanti Kingdom and was the guest of honour at the annual celebration of “Ghana Fest”, organised by Ghana National Council (GNC) of Metropolitan Chicago,  commended Ghanaians in the United States of America for conducting themselves properly.

He stressed that the existence of cordial relationship between Ghana and the USA could be more enhanced, “if Ghanaians continue to live in peace and conduct themselves well as they have already started”.

Daasebre Osei Bonsu was invited by the GNC of Metropolitan Chicago on behalf of its members.

The annual event also coincided with the Silver Jubilee celebration of Ghana Fest, which is one of the greatest cultural and ethnic festivals celebrated in the City of Chicago in North America, and brings all Ghanaians together and portrays the rich Ghanaian culture to the American public and the world at large.

At this event, representatives of such rich culture are their traditional chiefs who represent all the 10 regions of Ghana. Each region displays the rich, diverse culture of Ghana.

The Mamponghene was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Janet Gyima-Kesse and Nana Peprah Asiase, Saamanhene of Mampong Traditional Area who is also Mampong Nkwantahene.
