2 Robbers nabbed by Police

Two persons, who allegedly attacked and robbed a banker in her house at Madina in Accra, have been arrested with the assistance of a tracking device on a mobile phone they stole among other items.

At about 2 a.m on the day of the robbery, Raymond Duodoo and Williams Henkel allegedly cut the electrical wire on the fence wall of the house with a plier to gain entry into the house.

The Accra Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr Patrick Adusei Sarpong, who briefed the Daily Graphic said the suspected robbers having jumped over the wall used a long screw driver to force a slide window open.

Subsequently, he said, the robbers used a cutter to break a burgler-proof system before entering the victim’s room.

The suspects threatened the victim with a machete and made away with GH¢6,710 and $110 cash, five mobile phones, one Samsung 51-inch television set, a Dell laptop and a ladies handbag that contained some documents and personal belongings of the victim.

Mr Sarpong said with the aid of a tracking device on one of the mobile phones the robbers stole, the police were able to trace the suspects to their hide out at Jamestown also in Accra.

Upon their arrest, the police retrieved the stolen mobile phones, laptop and the money.

The suspects afterwards led the police to a kiosk at Madina where the 51-inch Samsung television set was recovered.

The ladies hand bag was meanwhile found near a church about 500 metres away from the victim’s house.
