Air conditioning unit caused Coconut Grove fire - Groupe Nduom

The inferno that engulfed Amansan Television (ATV) (located within the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel premises) yesterday was caused by a faulty air conditioning unit, owners of the facility have said.

Portions of the facility owned by business mogul and 2016 Presidential candidate of the Progressive People's Party, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom through his Groupe Nduom conglomerate was razed down by fire on Saturday evening.

The quiz competition was won by the Somanya South Circuit of schools  with 35 points, followed by Nkurakan with 33 points and Klo-Agogo with 32 points.

Parts of the Coconut Groove Regency Hotel at North Ridge in Accra was Saturday destroyed when fire erupted in one of its buildings.

The Amansan Television (ATV) and four commercial offices of Groupe Nduom which were on the same block in the hotel's yard were badly affected.

Group attacks NHIS office in Zabzugu

A youth group in Zabzugu,believed to be loyalists of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Zabzugu District in the Northern Region, yesterday attacked the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) office in the district.

‘Curriculum reforms can reduce unemployment’

Retail chain supports two social protection facilities

Some alcohol and drug addicts undergoing rehabilitation at a centre at Medie, near Accra, as well as a social protection home in the Volta Region has received clothes worth GH¢71,281.

The beneficiaries are the Drug and Alcohol Free Awareness Rehabilitation Centre (DAFAREC) at Medie and the Widows and Orphans Home in the Volta Region.

Financial institutions association assists Pantang Hospital

The Association of Financial Institutions (ASSOFIN) of the Industrial and commercial Union (ICU) last Saturday donated a consignment of items worth over GH¢10,000 to the Pantang Hospital near Accra.

The items included 150 hospital bed mattresses, bags of rice, gallons of detergents, soaps, toiletries and loafs of bread.
