Vigilant Global donates computers to Mfantsipim

Canadian company Vigilant Global, has donated 15 computers to Mfantsipim School.

At a short ceremony at the school’s premises on Friday, a representative of the company, Mohammed Baakoe, who is a member of Mfantsipim Class of 1989 and originally hails from Cape Coast, said the donation was an initiative by the company to support educational institutions in Africa.

According to Baakoe the company is keen on supporting Mfantsipim and other needy institutions with refurbished computers on a regular basis. He said the training of the youth using relevant IT tools and equipment was key to their progress and development hence Vigilant Global’s decision to support Mfantsipim.

“Co-Founder and Managing Director Arvind Ramanathan is happy that the company’s corporate social responsibility will benefit schools thousands of miles away from Canada. We are a global company and our corporate social responsibility cuts across the global spectrum as well,” Baakoe said.

Headmaster of Mfantsipim, Manfred Barton Odro, expressed the school’s gratitude to Vigilant Global for the donation and assured the company that the computers will be put to good use and kept in good working order to encourage the company to donate more equipment in future.

Present at the ceremony were members of MOBA 1989 who came to support their colleague Mohammed Baakoe to make the presentation.
