He said the world is in the technological age and school pupils/students must be abreast of the technology of the time, some of which are laptops.

Mr Terlabi who is also the Deputy Minister for Defence, said apart from ICT being an examinable subject, computer could be used for many other activities and there was the need for every pupil/student in basic schools to be computer literate and encouraged the teachers to ensure that the computers remained in the schools for the benefit of the learners.

The headmistress of Akuse Islamic Basic Schools, Ms Vinolia Atopra, on behalf of other beneficiary heads, thanked the MP for the gesture.

She appealed to the MP to add other teaching and learning materials to make teaching and learning very effective in the schools.

A pupil of the Akuse Islamic Primary, Rabiatu Musa, who thanked the MP on behalf of the other beneficiary schools, also appealed to the MP to add other learning materials such as library books and recreational materials to make learning complete.

“Honourable MP, we are very grateful and we hope this would not be the end but other things will be added to encourage us to learn more, and so thank you so much” Rabiatu added.
