Addressing the gathering, the Principal of KTI, Ms Elizabeth Andoh-Mensah, urged workers to always have age 60 in mind when they would go home to rest from formal working life and prepare adequately for that inevitable period.

Advice

Madam Andoh-Mensah advised workers to take advantage of loan facilities while in active service and use them for productive purposes.

“Take loans to build decent houses, invest in viable ventures and feed yourselves and families well. In fact, you need to plan and prepare well while in active service to enable you to enjoy peaceful and comfortable pension life in future and involve yourselves in family, community and societal development activities in order to make a positive impact on society, even in old age,” she admonished.

Appreciation

Mr Sam Bediako Asare, on behalf of the retirees, thanked the management and staff of KTI for the honour done them and urged the school authorities to sustain the gesture as a means to motivate current and future workers to do their best while in active service as well as maintain cordial relations during and after their working lives.

He was full of praise for Mr Musa Abdul-Salam, Vice Principal-Academic, and Elder Patrick Kontoh, the school’s Welfare Committee Chairman, for the key roles they played in making the event a success.

The event was chaired by Nana Yeboah Mensah, the Krontihene of Adwumakasekese and Chairman of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of KTI.
