Tweneboa Koduah SHS old students hand over projects to alma mater
The 1987 Year Group of Tweneboa Koduah Senior High School (SHS) in Kumawu in the Ashanti Region, (Akyerema ‘87), has renovated the school’s computer lab and furnished it with 30 desktop computers.
The renovation works and the procurement of the high-speed computers with accessories and internet facility cost the group GHS 60,000 .
The group also extended water facilities to the kitchen and main reservoirs as a show of gratitude to the institution which helped shape their dreams and had made them better citizens.
Inaugurating the projects during a handover ceremony at the school recently, a member of Akyerema ’87, Mrs Janet Wiredu-Opoku, said the refurbished ICT lab was to enhance the teaching and learning of the subject to enable the students to score better grades in the subject.
She said the project was also to help the students to succeed and expand their opportunities and urged the students to take their education seriously, as it was the best way to progress in life.
"Kindly take advantage of the new ICT lab and motivate each other to make both yourselves and the school proud," she advised.
She warned the students to stay away from the use of hard drugs and rather concentrate on their books.
Headmaster
The Headmaster of the school, Mr John Asante Bawuah, expressed appreciation to the group for its show of love, pointing out that, the extension of pipe-borne water to the kitchen and main reservoir had come at the right time to help the school to deal with the stress of accessing water.
"With the current extension of the water project, students can now have access to potable water which hitherto was an expensive commodity on campus," the headmaster said.
He said the furnished ICT lab would help train students to show interest in developing softwares that could be used for the benefit of the country and encouraged other year groups to emulate their example.
He appealed to the government and other stakeholders to come to the aid of the school to get more places of convenience and construct more dormitories.
He also pleaded with stakeholders to help renovate his official bungalow which he said was in a deplorable state.
