CACI awards scholarships to 41 students

The Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI) has awarded scholarships to 41 brilliant, needy students to pursue their academic career at the tertiary level.

The scholarship package, which included tuition and hostel fees and also covered the four-year tertiary programme, was presented to the students at the church’s Nima branch in Accra.

Education Fund

The Chairman of the CACI, Apostle Stephen K. Amoani, explained that the church realised that there were several student members who had gained admission to the various tertiary and secondary schools but had to stay home due to financial challenges.

The church, he said, therefore introduced the Education Fund in 2011 to help support those students.

He mentioned that ever since about 342 students had benefitted from the fund.

According to Apostle Amoani, the CACI over the years had immensely supported the development of the country.

He said the church had introduced many initiatives, including the Apostolic Agency for Relief Development (CAARD), an NGO in cassava growing and processing.

He said in 2017 the church donated four brand new ambulances to the Ghana Health Service (GHS) to support health delivery in the country.

Selection process

The Chairman of the Education Fund committee, Mr George Anto Boateng, explained that background checks and academic qualification of the beneficiaries were confirmed in the selection process to avoid giving the scholarship to students from rich homes.
