Bethel Methodist School donates to Tema General Hospital

Management and Pupils of Bethel Methodist School in Tema Community Eight have donated assorted fruits worth GH¢500 to the Children’s Department of the Tema General Hospital.

The items presented included baskets of pineapple, apples, tangerines, oranges and banana.

This formed part  of the school’s thanksgiving programme in appreciation to God for a 100 per cent success record by the first batch of students who wrote the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) this year.

In an interview after the presentation ceremony, the Headmaster of the school, Mr Ernest Samuel Opare-Baidu, said the donation was to inculcate in the children the habit of sharing and giving to their neighbours, particularly the less-privileged.

"The gesture is to demonstrate to the pupils the value of giving and to share in the plight of their unfortunate brothers and sisters who should have been in school like them," he said.

He further said that it was an opportunity to thank God for His mercies and for the successes  achieved by the school over the years.

On behalf of  the Tema General Hospital, the Deputy Director of Nursing Services, Mrs Mercy Dela Agbefe, thanked the schoolchildren, and the school authorities for their kind gesture.
