Academic work in SHS progresses steadily after meningitis, flu scare

Senior High Schools in the country are pursuing the academic activities contrary to fear and panic activated by certain persons on various social media platforms that schools will be closed down because of reported cases of Cerebrospinal Meningitis and Swine Flu in some schools.

Some elements are claiming on various social media platforms that government was going to close down schools because it was not on top of getting solutions to the Meningitis and Swine Flu case.

The same persons are claiming that schools will be opened as scheduled next year.

But it has turned out that there are no such plans.

Rather various SHSs are preparing to vacate for the Christmas and are therefore writing terminal examinations.

Reopening of schools for next year will also go ahead as planned.

A source at the Ministry of Education, said that it was unfortunate for some unscrupulous persons to toy with serious issues affecting students.

According to the source, it was absurd for anyone to suggest that government was not on top saving the Meningitis and Flu problems.

"The government is well positioned to save the situation and there is no cause for alarm," the source said.
