The workshop was organised by the Gender Studies and Documentation Centre (Gender Centre), a non-governmental organisation (NGO), operating in the region.

The workshop was part of the NGO’s four-year project called, ‘‘Promoting quality education delivery and safe school environment in Wenchi and Tain districts in the two communities.

In an address, the Executive Director of the Gender Centre, Mrs Dorcas Coker-Appiah, advised the participants to report any violent acts meted out to them to the police, assembly member or any opinion leader for the necessary action to be taken.

The Wenchi Municipal Circuit Supervisor, Mr Nicholas Osei Twum, urged the students to transfer the knowledge they had acquired, especially on sexual abuses, to their mates, and advised them to be assertive all the times.
