‘Take interest in the well-being of your children’

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Mr Yoofi  Grant has called on parents to show interest in the well-being and development of their children.

This, according to him, would ensure that children grow up well grounded both emotionally and  spiritually.

Mr Grant made the call at the 8th graduation ceremony and the 10th anniversary of the Daddy’s Day care situated at East Legon in Accra.

The Vice Principal of the East Airport International school, Mr Benjamin Peprah Bookie-Danka also advised parents to make time for their kids, adding that a number of children complain of the fact that their parents are not often available when they need them.

“One of the issues my young friends usually complain about in my work with children is the absence of mum and dad when they need them to explain some new issues to them or clarify any misconceptions, attend PTA meetings or accompany them to a school programme, especially when they are performing,” he added.

He advised parents not  to take such things for granted since all that works together to boost the confidence of children.

In her welcome address, the Proprietress of the school, Mrs Irene Ayesu said the aim of the school was to ensure that the children grow up with some sense of independence, self-confidence, a drive to study and excel in all that they engage in.

She mentioned that the school was built on the Christian faith and had skilled teachers, adding “our style of teaching is personalised to suit each child’s unique needs”.
