Presby Women’s Fellowship donates to female prisons
The Women's Fellowship of the Trinity congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in Takoradi in the Western Region has presented a number of items worth about GH¢1,000 to inmates at the Sekondi Female Prisons.
The presentation of the items which included toiletries, biscuits, bags of rice, gari, detergents, iodated salt, loaves of bread, sanitary pads,second-hand clothing, cooking oil, sugar and pastries, formed part of activities to mark the fellowship’s 76th anniversary celebration.
The President of the fellowship, Mrs Paulina Omari-Mireku, who made the presentation, expressed the fellow-feeling of the group to the inmates, some of whom, she noted, were there through no fault of theirs.
The president advised them to concentrate on whatever trade or skills training they were undertaking during their respective sentences so that when they got out, they could use their handiwork to fend for themselves and their families, adding: "We shall contin
