The items, which included stationery, clothes, drinks and biscuits, were presented to the school to assist with the educational and social needs of the children.

The Public Relations Officer of the GCN, Mr Bilah Foster Julius, advised the children to take their studies seriously and also read regularly to improve on their vocabulary.

He explained that when children read often they would be able to understand sentences and learn new words and also widen their world view, which positively affected their academic performance.

The Founder of the orphanage, Mrs Jane Irina Adu, expressed her gratitude to the network for the kind gesture and called on the public to help raise and educate such children by supporting them since they were part of society.

She said orphans were usually neglected pointing out that if they were supported by society they would feel loved and cared for.

Speaking to the Vice- President of the GCN, Papa Yaw Owusu Acheampong Mensah, he said the donation was a project the network had embarked on to support childern who are less privileged in society to get access to reading materials.

As part of the donation, there was a talk by student nurses from the GCN to educate the children on how to live a good and healthy life by eating balanced meals, avoid eating too much sugar and fatty foods.

The GCN is made up of the 2012 old students of the St. Martins Senior High School at Adoagyiri in Nsawam, who contribute their best to society by funding the philanthropic works they engage in to promote social development in the country.
