NGO builds library for Boko Primary

The Joyful Africa Mission, an international Christian Organisation, has constructed a library, an audio visual hall and a six-unit classroom block for the Boko Primary School in the Bongo District in the Upper East Region at a cost of GH¢90,000.

It has also donated a projector, speakers, amplifiers, a wall screen and a cordless microphone valued at GH¢2,500 to the Bongo District Directorate of Education to assist in the training for pupil teachers in the district.

At a ceremony to commission the building, the Director of Joyful Africa Mission in the Upper East Region, Reverend Pius Prah, said since the mission started operating in the region in 2009 it had undertaken several interventions to help communities in the region.

He said their vision was to help promote quality education, good health care and sanitation and provide good drinking water by drilling boreholes for the people.

"The mission is now in partnership with the Bongo District Education Directorate to manage the Boko School as a mission school to help raise the standard of teaching and learning through this partnership," Rev. Prah added.

The Bongo District Director of Education, Mr Emmanuel Zumakpeh, said libraries were essential for learning and urged teachers to support  the children  to make good use of the library.
