Lola Hair & Beauty College trains children in braiding
The Lola Hair & Beauty College and the Charismatic Evangelistic Ministry have organised a training programme to equip children in various skills during the vacation period.
The children were trained in the braiding of hair, hair grooming and care. They also used beads to make bracelets, ear- rings, slippers, key holders among others.
The children, who were between the ages of seven and 18, were trained for three weeks.

Mrs Latifa Adekanla, the owner of Lola Hair & Beauty College, said the programme was organised in response to calls from parents to train children in hair braiding as an extra curricular activity.
“Because of the numerous calls, we decided to teach children so that they can grow with some of these useful skills,” she said.
Mrs Adekanla said if the children were trained well, they could become professionals and earn a living, especially when they travel outside the country.
“It was amazing what the children were able to do within this short period of three weeks we engaged them,” she said.
We want to encourage parents and teachers in various schools and institutions to treat this programme as an extra-curricular activity and encourage students to show interest in it.
She asked parents to enrol their children anytime and not wait till the vacation period, adding that there were sessions for the weekends as well.
