Kensington Trust Preparatory BECE candidates graduate

A Circuit Supervisor of the Ghana Education Service (GES), of the Bosomtwe District in the Ashanti Region, Mr Samuel Partey, has asked parents not to put undue pressure on school authorities to enrol their children in schools when there are no vacancies available.

He said such actions have adverse effects on the quality of teaching and learning in schools.

Mr Partey made these comments at the graduation ceremony of the 2017 batch of 22 final-year students at Dompoase-Aprabo.

He lauded the authorities of the Kensington Trust Preparatory School for ensuring that students made excellent grades in the Basic Education Certificate Education (BECE), and urged other schools in the circuit to emulate the example.

The Proprietress of the school, Mrs Comfort Arthur Bonful, assured the GES that the school would continue to put in place the requisite measures to produce good students for the next generation.

She said the school would continue to teach children Christian values in order to enable them to grow up and mentor others in the society.

The Director of the school, Mr Eric Arthur Bonful, commended the graduating class for passing out successfully and assured them that they would surely come out with flying colours.

He urged parents to spend quality time with their children in order to identify their shortfalls and see how best they could assist them.

Speaking on the theme: “The way forward,” Mr Bonful said the school was preparing to construct an ultra-modern science laboratory as part of measures to provide the best for students.

He appealed to the government to, as a matter of urgency, fix the deplorable road network in the area, which he said was affecting the school and other economic activities in the community.

A Gynaecologist at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Dr Augustine Tawiah, who gave the keynote address, tasked parents to engage the fresh graduates in varied useful activities so that “the devil does not find work for them while they are idle”.

The prefects in the graduating class handed over the staff of office to the newly elected officials during the ceremony.

Awards were presented to all the former prefects and some deserving students.

Miss Anastasia Osei Boakye emerged the Overall Best Student.
