Junior Graphic / Parables Xmas contest still on

The Christmas contest organised for schoolchildren across the country is still on, the Editor of the Junior Graphic, Mrs Mavis Kitcher, has said.

She stated that it was not too late for children who did not enter the contest which began last year to take part explaining that all they needed to do was to get the past copies of the Junior Graphic in the various offices of the Graphic Communications Group Limited across the country, answer the questions and post them to the Junior Graphic.

Throwing more light on the contest, Mrs Kitcher said the competition, which was in the form of puzzles, mazes, quizzes and fun drawing activities, was centred on banking.

“Children are encouraged to acquire the habit of saving some of the money their parents and relatives give them to help them develop that character trait of not spending all that they have on things that they do not really need,” she said.

The contest, therefore, is to expose children to some of the simple issues in banking and the importance of saving a little money regularly so that it would be part of their lives in adulthood.

“At the end of the period, we hope that all children who participate in the contest would have understood the importance of savings and gradually build that into a habit and also win wonderful prizes,” Mrs Kitcher added.
