Joyful day for Doribabs School Complex

The Omanhene of the Oguaa Traditional Area, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, has called on Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates to do their best so that they can gain admission to schools of their choice.

He asked the candidates to strive hard to perform very well so that they would benefit from the free Senior High School (SHS) programme the government has introduced.

Osabarima Kwesi Atta II made the call when the Independence Day and Presidential award winner and other award winners of the Doribabs School Complex paid a courtesy call on him.

Doribabs School Complex in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese (AAK) District in the Central Region was adjudged the Overall Best Basic School in the district.

The school came tops in the 2017 BECE, beating 99 other schools to emerge the best school in the district for the second consecutive time.

Doribabs swept three out of the four academic laurels in the district last year and seven out of 10 awards at the 2018 Independence Day Parade.

Ms Selasie Ewurama Gomado, an immediate past student of the school and currently a student of the Wesley Girls’ High School in Cape Coast, won the 2018 President’s Independence Day Award for the Central Region as the Best Pupil of the 2017 Basic Education Graduates.

The Proprietress of the school, Madam Doris Baaba Simpson, said the school would continue to give a solid foundation based on moral and high disciplinary values to its pupils and students.

Two of the school’s past students, Golden Sekyi Asumadu, who is currently a student of the St Augustine’s College emerged the Best Student in the Boys Category, and Kawa Andrews, a student of the Wesley Girls’ High School, won the third place in the Girls Category in the district.
