The Head of the National Nursery Teachers Training Centre, Mrs Evelyn Quartey-Papafio, who made the call, said it was important for parents to sacrifice their comfort today in order to “enjoy the fruits of their labour tomorrow.”

The colourful ceremony was mixed with performances by the pupils of the school.

Mrs Quartey-Papafio reminded parents that the way they catered for their children today would determine how their children would take care of them in future.

She commended private schools in the country for playing a very important role in the educational sector and charged them to maintain their high standards.

“Ghana appreciates your contribution to bringing quality education to the doorsteps of its citizens,” she said and advised the pupils to take advantage of the conducive learning environment in the country to work hard to achieve results.

Mrs Quartey-Papafio also advised the youth to respect their parents and the elderly in general to prolong their lives on earth, “at least that is what the Bible says”, she added.

The Chief Executive Officer of the school, Ms Jemima Nartey, took the gathering through the various stages the school had gone through in the past 20 years.

She was happy that the school had moved from a humble beginning to its current stage where it rubbed shoulders with some of the big schools in Accra.

The Chief Executive Officer of Cadling Fashions, Mrs Linda Ampah, who chaired the function, commended the management of the school for pursuing excellence.
