Graduation galore

Picture: SEVERIOUS KALE-DERYThe Royal Diadem School marked its 20th anniversary, Speech and Prize-giving Day with a cultural performance and splendid display by its cadet corps, reports Severious Kale-Dery.

The cadet corps drew the loudest applause with its sharp turnout, led by little, but smartly dressed  Gladys Baidoo, who also accompanied the Chairman for  the function, Mr Ntim Gyakari, to review the parade mounted by the cadet.

In a message, the Proprietor of the school, Reverend Louis Nortey, recalled that within the past 20 years, the school had chalked up a number of successes and commended the staff and parents as well as the students for that feat.

From  the Adenta Community school, Wilda Evans reports that Veteran Radio Broadcaster, Maafia Konadu, has called on parents to join hands with teachers in the upbringing of their children, to ensure a promising future for them.

She emphasised that children had their own unique strengths and weaknesses and should, therefore, be allowed to develop at their own pace.

The Headmistress of the school, Mrs Josephine Agyekum, also advised parents to make sacrifices and promote the educational needs of their children.

The school's drama troupe staged a play on the need to avoid tribalism so that peace and harmony would prevail in the country at all times.

At the first graduation ceremony of the Dromonaa International School, the Chief Executive Officer of Paracom Ltd, Mr Odartey Mills, urged parents to give their  children a bright future by educating them.

He said parents must be in constant touch with their children’s school authorities, “so that together, you can give a good foundation to the children.”

The Headmistress of the school, Madam Deborah Tackie-Yabboi, praised the staff for their commitment to ensure that the school maintained its enviable status as one of the best in the region.

Ralph Dinko reports that over 40 pupils from the CEG Academy at Laterbiokorshie had graduated from the school.  

Mr Emmanuel Mensah Kwao, the Headteacher of the school,  charged the graduands to live responsibly and concentrate on their education. The graduation ceremony had as its theme, “Education, best investment for the future.”

The officer in charge of education in the Ablemakuma Sub-metro, Mrs Bernice Aidoo, cautioned parents against allowing their children to watch adult-rated movies.

She also said the future of children would be messed up if their freedom was not moderated.

The Administrator of the school, Mr Philip Kuagbenu, revealed that the 2011 and 2012 batches of the junior high school students scored 100 per cent and 90 per cent respectively and was sure that the school had a bright future.
