Good Shepherd International School lifts anniversary cup

Good Shepherd International School (GSIS) has climaxed its 25th anniversary celebration with a 2-0 emphatic win over NABS Educational Institute in a football tournament organised by the school at the Islamic School Park at Gbawe in Accra.

In the fiercely contested encounter, GSIS scored in both halves of the game to ensure they won the special anniversary competition in which eight schools in Gbawe participated.

Faith Way Mission School was declared the second runner-up after their opponents, Oregon International School, failed to show up for the match.

GSIS took home a giant trophy. Certificates of honour were presented to the players and the technical team while the second and third placed teams NABS and Faithway also received certificates for their achievements.

In a chat with the Junior Graphic after their triumph, the Director of GSIS, Dr Wisdom Kpehor, expressed satisfaction with his players for winning the competition.

He described the competition as highly successful and called for such football contests to be organised annually to foster peace and unity among schools in the same vicinity.

"I am so happy that we hosted and won the tournament. As you can see, it has added some glamour to our anniversary. I commend the players for the honour,” he said.
