Danger at Oblogo Cluster of Schools

The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the Oblogo Cluster of Schools says it has given the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly up to the end of February to put in place measures that will prevent vehicles which have problems with their brakes from veering onto the school compound.

It said the association would advise itself on the next course of action if the assembly failed to put in place measures to protect staff and pupils of the school.

The Chairman of the PTA of the Oblogo Cluster of School, Rev. Paul Neequaye explained to the Junior Graphic in an interview that the decision to give the assembly up to the end of the month was as a result of the outcome of a meeting held at the school last week.

He said the school had initially planned a sit-down strike to put pressure on the assembly to act fast to prevent accidents in the school but “we are waiting up to the end of February to see how things will go by giving the assembly time to prepare and address the problem,” he added.

The Junior Graphic in its January 23-29 edition published a story about the dangers posed to schoolchildren at the Oblogo Cluster of Schools located along the Weija Junction-Oblogo Road.

It, among other things, said the base of the road (that leads to Gbawe) had already recorded a number of accidents as a result of vehicles failing their brakes and eveering onto  the school compound.
