Master Antwi won the grand trophy after being adjudged the overall winner in the Basic Level Category while four-year-Old Gurbani won a trophy for the I-Math Category.

UCMAS is a brain development programme for children between six -14 years, to help them develop their listening and memory retention and concentration abilities.
The Chief Executive Officer of UCMAS Ghana Limited, Mr Roger Ohemeng, told pupils who could not make it to the finals in Malaysia not to despair but to continue to study hard ahead of the next competition.

He explained that by studying hard, they could also become winners and help motivate others who found maths difficult to participate in the contest.

“This programme seeks to eradicate the fear of Maths in children and boost their confidence,” he pointed out.

The Director of the Ransom Education Centre, Mr Richard Laryea, said the competition was designed to help children academically and make them fast and smart in any activity they engaged in.

Mr Laryea encouraged parents to involve their children anytime such competitions were being held to help build up their knowledge and understanding.
