Adhere to code of ethics

The Rector of the Saint Peter’s Cathedral Basilica in Kumasi, Rev. Monsignor Gabriel Acheampong, has admonished students of the St Louis Demonstration Junior High School to live by the code of ethics of the school to guarantee the continuation of their education in the school.

He said the code of ethics of the school was comparable to a Constitution of a nation, so any breach could warrant one's expulsion from the school.

Speaking at the launch of the school’s 40th anniversary celebration in Kumasi, Rev. Acheampong advised the pupils to desist from all forms of vices such as gambling, the use of drugs and alcoholism.

He asked the students to focus on doing what was acceptable in order to secure a better livelihood in future.

The Headmistress of the school, Madam Michelle Acquaye, assured parents that the school would continue to impart good values in their children with “the Roman Catholic Creed as the foundation”.

Miss Acquaye said her doors were always open for concerns and constructive criticism as long they were aimed at the development of the school.

She said the celebration would be a year-long event to be climaxed by a grand durbar in March next year.

The headmistress called on all past students to join hands with the school for the celebrations.

A member of the 1977 year-group — the first batch of students of the school, Mr Anthony Adjapong, who is currently the Senior Assistant Registrar in charge of Academic and Students Affairs of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), lauded the management of the school for holding high its values and principles.

He expressed gratitude to the school on behalf of his mates, whom he said were performing creditably both locally and internationally due to the solid foundation they received while they were students.

Mr Adjapong assured authorities of the school that they would continue to partner their alma matter in raising the image of the school high.

The school’s PTA Chairman, Mr Alfred Agyemang-Badu, commended the leadership of the school for the discipline they continue to instil in the children, which he said, was manifest in the behaviour of the students.
