A contestant from the Lord's Academy trying to spell a word

Contestants of the Acropolis Junior Graphic Fan Club beat the Lord’s Academy Junior Graphic Fan Club to emerge winners in their group’s National Junior Graphic Fan Club Spelling Competition.

Last year, the contestants, who represented the Lord’s Academy Junior Graphic Fan Club topped with the highest marks of 45 points.

This year, however, luck was not on their side as they were beaten by a school that  joined the spelling contest for the first time.

The new entrants, the Acropolis School at Gbawe, took the coveted first position with 39 points, while the Lord’s Academy placed second with 28 points.

The Frus Academy at Akweteman, also a new entrant in the competition, had 21 points and secured the third position in the contest.
