Ablekuma Central dominates sub-metro games

The Ablekuma Central Sub-metro is carving a niche for itself in the area of sports by maintaining its dominance over the other nine  sub-metros in Accra.

This was after they emerged winners in the inter-sub metro games held at the Salvation Army School Park at Mamprobi in Accra. Two weeks ago, the sub-metro was declared  the overall winners in the inter-sub-metro athletics competition held at the El-Wak Sports Stadium.

At the end of the two-day games, the Ablekuma Sub-metro came tops when it won four gold, one silver and one bronze medals.

The Ayawaso Central Sub-metro came second with two gold and a bronze  while the Ablekuma South Sub-metro placed third with one gold, five silver and  one bronze medals.  

Ablekuma North settled for the fourth position by winning one gold, and two silver medals while Okaikoi South came fifth with one gold, one silver and four bronze medals.

The sixth position was taken by Okaikoi North which had one gold, one silver and one bronze medals. Osu Klottey came seventh with one gold.

The Ashiedu Keteke Sub-metro took the eighth position with  one silver and one bronze medals while Ayawaso East came ninth with  one bronze and the Ayawaso West Sub-metro took the 10th position with one bronze medal.

Events competed in were table tennis, handball, volleyball, soccer and netball.
