U.S. first lady Melania Trump's visit to Cape Coast Castle (photos)

The First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump laid a wreath at the 17th-century Cape Coast slave castle on Wednesday as part of her two-day visit to Ghana.

Melania vowed never to forget where Africans were held before being shipped away into further hardship, most across the Atlantic.

The United States First Lady spent close to an hour at the castle, where she was taken around by tour guides.

Mrs. Trump in her visit to the castle walked through the infamous ‘door of no return’ after she had signed the guest book. Some media reports also has it that, she laid a wreath in memory of the slaves.

She described her experience as very ’emotional’.
