Bill Clinton campaigns for Hillary in Indianapolis

In a rainy day in Fort Wayne in Indianapolis, hundreds of ruling Democrat sympathisers defied the heavy down pour to listen to former President Bill Clinton, who addressed a political rally to justify why the America people, should not only endorse his wife, Mrs Hilary Clinton as the presidential candidate but should vote overwhelmingly for her as the next president.

The chilly weather could not deter the party faithful from joining a long winding queue not just to listen to the former President, but more importantly, to hear what Hilary had to offer as she sought the mandate to be the first woman president in the history of America.

The tight security was to be expected. There was a rigorous search on people before they were allowed.

The excitement

As the expectant teeming crowd waited patiently for the arrival of the former president, they were treated to beautiful live band music and it was a frenzy.

The shouts were loud, mobile phones and tablets were raised as everybody wanted to take a photograph of him and what a spectacule it was!

Protestors

But it was not just all about excitement to hear a political message from the former President for his wife, it was a real exhibition of true democracy as some of the foreign journalists look on in awe as a handful of individual placard-bearing protestors freely walked among the enthusiastic party faithful without hindrance, calling Hilary Clinton “murderer, criminal and corrupt” with one of the placards reading: “Hilary for prison”.

Appreciation

Former President Clinton praised the people of the State of Indiana for defying the weather to attend the rally, describing it as a sign of their preparedness to endorse his wife’s bid for the ticket to run the race to the White House.

He said Hillary’s enormous experience in politics was sufficient to lead the country not just because she was the wife of a former President.

Building on Obama’s legacy

The former President said his wife was coming to give equal opportunities to all irrespective of colour, race, religion or political affiliation.

Former President Clinton said “Hilary is coming to put everyone in the picture so that all of us will rise together,” so that they would be no discrimination whatsoever.

He praised the Obama administration for creating job opportunities, giving more than 90 per cent American people good healthcare and making America the number one giant manufacturing industry in the world.

Former President Clinton said his wife would build on the achievements of President Obama by developing a comprehensive job policy and by converting college debts by students into home mortgages so that they could pay within 20 years.

He said one of the priorities of Hilary was to create the opportunity for good jobs so that the American people could prepare for a comfortable retirement and that would solve all the problems people go through during retirement.

During his era

Making reference to his days as president, he said, “when I was President of the United States, we tried to hold this economy middle up and the bottom up, every family felt involved. And guess what, nobody was mad. That is what is what we are going to do again.”

He said during those days, there was nothing like someone was a minority or some people were not welcomed, “we were all rising together,” adding that Hilary believed in all inclusive policies.

Former President Clinton said Hilary would build strong trade and economic relations and friendly foreign policies.

He, therefore, called on all party faithful who believe in the Democrat Party to vote Hilary for presidential candidates to lead the party to the White House to continue and even improve upon what President Obama did.

Former President Bill Clinton canvassed votes for his wife Hilary Clinton ahead of Tuesday, May 3, 2016 presidential primaries.
