The former president of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan has paid tribute to the demise of TB Joshua.

In a message of condolence to TB Joshua’s family and the SCOAN congregation, he said, “TB Joshua was a devout man of God who served God and humanity with relentless passion. He was a man of sound doctrine, meek and faithful to his call and passion of reconciling men to God and offering hope to humanity”.

He added that as a Christian leader, TB Joshua and his Ministry exemplified Christ in faith, love, and charity, “positively impacting the lives of many Nigerians, Africans and millions of people across the world”.

Prophet T.B. Joshua passed away one week before his 58th birthday.

Known as "the Prophet'" to his followers, his death was announced on his Facebook page with a message that read: "God has taken His servant".

His church also confirmed this in a statement on  Sunday, "On Saturday 5th June 2021, Prophet TB Joshua spoke during the Emmanuel TV Partners Meeting: "Time for everything -- time to come here for prayer and time to return home after the service," T.B. Joshua Ministries wrote in a Facebook post. "God has taken His servant Prophet TB Joshua home -- as it should be by divine will. His last moments on earth were spent in the service of God. This is what he was born for, lived for, and died for."
