Ghana's Majeed Waris has joined French Ligue 1 outfit, Nantes FC, on a season long loan deal which will see him play for the club in the upcoming league season.
Waris, who signed from Portuguese side, FC Porto, is expected to feature in the Ligue 1 till the end of the current campaign.
The Ghanaian decided to move to France on loan as he looks to play regularly in a bid to revive his career ahead of next year's Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Nantes confirmed Waris capture on twitter saying "The Ghanaian international @ warisgh10 GH is on loan (with option to buy) to FC Nantes by @FCPorto for the 2018-2019 season".
Waris will be hoping to make a significant impact with Nantes in order for the French side to make his move permanent especially when Porto are willing to allow him move.
He returns to a familiar terrain, having previously featured for Ligue 1 sides Valenciennes and Lorient where he enjoyed successful spells.
Having joined Porto from Lorient last season, the 26-year-old failed to make any significant impact in the team and managed only four appearances without any goal.
Nantes will be his third French club -- and his six European side -- since leaving BK Häcken in 2012 after two seasons with the Swedish Allsvenskan outfit.
