Six of the nation's best male and female volleyball teams will compete in this year's Chairman's Cup slated for the Prisons Sports Complex at Cantonments in Accra today.

Police, Air Force, Immanuel Presbyterian Church, El Wake Wings, Prisons and Army will feature in the men's category.
They will vie for the trophy at stake, an undisclosed cash donation from the president of the Greater Accra Volleyball Association, George Tetteh, the bragging rights and medals.

In the women's category, Police, Immigration, Army, Air Force, Fire Service and El Wak Wings will clash for the ultimate trophy, medals and an undisclosed cash prize from George Tetteh.

The competition, organised after the climax of every league, is to select players for the national cause and and identify new talents.
Mr Tetteh told the Daily Graphic that a dinner and awards night would be held a week after the championship to honour the best and deserving players.

He called on volleyball fans across the country to patronise the event.
