The University of Ghana, hosts of the 2020 Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games, has unveiled the logo, mascot and campaign song for the competition scheduled for Accra in January next year.
The logo, which was beautifully designed by Samuel Asamoah, a former student of the university, features an athlete getting ready to participate in all the 13 disciplines that will be competed in during the games.
The campaign song, written by John Edmundson Sam, also talks about unity and development among the competing universities, while the mascot is named Nileygon, which literally means a mountain of knowledge.
The logo, campaign song and mascot were unveiled during the official launch of the games at the Great Hall of the university last Wednesday. For their efforts in designing the logo and writing the song, Asamoah and Edmundson earned GH₵1,000 and GH₵1,500 respectively.
