The Trophy Tour of the Sprite Ball Championship kicked off today at the West African Senior High School (WASS) in the Greater Accra Region ahead of the 2019 edition slated for January 11 to 12 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.

The trophy will visit the qualified schools in the Greater Accra Region before moving to the other qualified schools in the other regions of the country.

The annual inter-high school basketball tournament, which is geared towards unearthing talents and developing existing ones among Senior High Schools in Ghana, will attract 24 schools across the country.

The Greater Accra Region will be represented in the boys division by West Africa Senior High School (WASS) and defending national champions, Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC-Osu), and two-time Sprite Ball finalist, Accra Wesley Girls, will feature in the girls division.

The girls from WASS will also feature in the girls division, making WASS the only school in next year’s competition to qualify for the nation’s biggest high school basketball competition in both the boys and girls divisions.

The trophy, which is expected to visit all three schools in the Greater Accra Region, is to give the teams a first hand look as they interact with the school authorities.
