Nsoroma Cricket Academy clubs march on

Promising cricket academy, Nsoroma Cricket Academy, is celebrating the fortunes of its three affiliates participating in the ongoing T20  President's Cup at the Achimota Cricket Oval in Accra.

Nsoroma Cricket Academy presented three teams in the ongoing tournament, thus, Nsoroma GPS, Kyebi Leopards U-19 and Taysec Titans CC (Cricket Club).

Nsoroma GPS
Nsoroma GPS, which was placed in Pool A, lost their first match to Salt and Pepper  CC but managed to secure their first win over Carel Super Kings.

In the encounter, Carel Super Kings decided to bat first after they won the toss and  accumulated 102 runs for 8 in 20 overs in the first innings.

However, an outstanding performance by Nsoroma GPS in the second innings gave them 106 runs for 3 in 17.4 overs to win the duel with 47 runs for his team.

Kevin Mark Awala of Nsoroma GPS was adjudged player of the match in the cagey encounter.

Kyebi Leopards
 In Pool B, Kyebi Leopards after losing to United CC by 51 runs in their first game came back strongly with an impeccable performance as they beat Defenders XI by 49 runs for 1 in 8.3 overs with 9 wickets in their second match.

Leopards' Derrick Ateak, who took 3 wickets giving away 9 runs with a moderate rate of  three seconds speed in the bowling figure was named player of the match.

The Leopards will however fall in a clash with IPMC Cricket Club in their third match. IPMC, upon winning the toss, elected to field first.

The Leopards in their innings scored 108 runs for 7 in 20.0 overs but IPMC in the second innings accumulated 109 runs for 9 in 19.3 overs with 1 wicket which led to a victory over Kyebi Leopards.

Taysec Titans
 Still in Pool B, Taysec Titans beat Defenders CC by 8 wickets to announce their presence in the tournament.

Though Defenders CC had 57 runs for 10 in 18.2 overs in their innings of which Taysec Titans elected to field first when they won the toss but failed to defend their runs as the Titans scored 58 runs for 2 in 7.1 overs in the second innings.

Taysec Titans' Yahaya Adams with an outstanding performance of taking 4 wickets giving away 10 runs with an economy rate of 2.50, adjudged the player of the match.

It was an exciting moment in their second  as Taysec set up another clash with IPMC. Winning the game with 9 wickets, the Titans killed the game with a magnificent performance by scoring 79 runs for 1 in 11.2 overs as their opponent (IPMC) 78 runs for 9 in 20.0 overs after winning the toss and opting to bat first.

Captain of the Titans, Mark Bawa, was honoured as the man of the match.

Unbeatable Taysec Titans held on to their unbeaten record as they displayed magical actions to thrash Supreme Warriors by 3 wickets in their third match. Taysec Titans won the game by scoring 116 runs for 7 in 20.0 overs to deny Supreme Warriors' 115 runs for 6 in 20.0 overs in the first innings.

Taking 3 wickets, giving away 21 runs and with an economy rate of 5.25, the captain of the Titans-Mark Bawa  was again adjudged the player of the match.

The Nsoroma Academy teams will again feature in the upcoming fixtures with Nsoroma GPS clashing with Everest CC on September 29, while Undisputed Taysec Titans take on United CC on October 6.

Kyebi Leopards will encounter Supreme Warriors on October 13 with all matches being staged at the Achimota Cricket Oval in Accra.
