Elwis Putters lead Caesars Court Wheelchair Minigolf

The novelty Caesars Court Wheelchair Minigolf League moves into the third week on Saturday

 After the launch last week by Ghana Olympic Committee president, Ben Nunoo Mensah, the 2019 Ghana Wheelchair Minigolf Clubs (GAWMA) League teed off at the Caesars Court in Accra at the weekend with 20 contests completed on Matchday One and Two.

An initiative of the Ghana Minigolf Federation (GMF) and the Ghana wheelchair Minigolf Association (GAWMA), the novelty league involves five wheelchair minigolf clubs competing against each other in 40 matches over four weeks.

The winning club will be honoured at the GMF Clubs League Awards ceremony on December 15 aCaesars Court, Ridge. At the end of Matchday 2 last Saturday, Elwis Putters Club maintained their lead on the league log with a total of 22 points and a score of 415 with 18 holes in one.

Victory Putters Club followed in the second position with 16 points and a score of 406 with 21 holes in 1.

Amazing, Raisers and Hope wheelchair clubs finished in the third, fourth and fifth positions respectively with 16 points each but separated in order of their scores of 415, 417 and 426.

Amazing Putters’ ace player, Emmanuel Abban emerged as Best Single Player, while Baba Wasilla and Samuel Okpoti of Elwils Putters Club won the Best Club Duo Score. They were all presented with cash prizes by the headline sponsors, Caesars Court.

The league returns with the third week contests on Saturday, December 7 at Caesars Court at Ridge in Accra with the matches teeing off at 1pm
