The University of Ghana (UG) women’s basketball team has emerged winners of the basketball division at the 2020 Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games.
The Amazonia Warriors beat the University of Cape Coast (UCC) team, Wild Pussies 56-30 in the final game.
The UG players took a 28-14 lead in the first half with guard Carlen Adjei draining a three point shot to give her side a commanding lead.
UCC turned the ball over and got punished for it with the likes of Berlinda Tawiah scoring in a strong finish for UG.
The UCC team fought back in the final quarter with Yayra Kluiboto scoring to reduce the deficit but UG's Anita Bonney scored a pair of three point shots later to seal the victory for the hosts.
UG missed out on gold medal in the 2018 edition held in Tamale but managed to finish tops this year.
