In what will be a blow for Manchester United, Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimović is set to seal a return to AC Milan for a second spell.
According to Marca, Ibrahimović is likely to return for another spell with Milan, despite reports from Tuttomercatoweb claiming that United had also been in contact with the striker on a possible return in their bid to boost their strikeforce.
Marca reported last week that Milan owners, the Elliott Management, had given approval to Paolo Maldini, Zvonomir Boban, and Ricky Massara to go out and sign experienced players in the January window.
The speculation was fueled when Maldini branded Zlatan a ‘dream player’ during the week with the Swede expected not to return to America’s Major Soccer League next season.
Record in Italy
And Ibrahimović won’t be coming in new territory as the last time he was in Italy, he notched 148 goals and 61 assists in 294 Serie A games across spells at Juventus, Inter, and Milan.
The report comes barely a week after Ibrahimovic sparked all kinds of rumors after suggesting that he might return to Spanish football in a social media post.
But the suggestions of a return to Spain were on a Spanish promotional advert that was later posted on his social media handles.
