Arsenal manager Unai Emery has hinted at further exits from the club, despite the summer transfer window shutting on Premier League clubs.
The club has let a few regular faces leave, including club captain Laurent Koscielny, who joined Bordeaux, while Alex Iwobi joined Everton with a few minutes left before the transfer window closed.
Speaking ahead of their first Premier League match against Newcastle on Sunday, Emery revealed that there might be some more exits.
"Unfortunately, although we could achieve the [signing of] some players, now in the next 25 days we could lose some players. It's the reason I want to close my squad clearly [before I decide my captains]," said Emery.
The manager further revealed that the transfer window was one of the reasons why he had not picked a captain yet, following Koscileny's departure.
"As you can understand, we are changing players at the last moment and also with Laurent Koscielny, he was the first captain, and he left us five days ago,"
"I want to be with my squad clearly to have two more. At the moment we have three captains and I think they have the capacity to give us possibilities as captain,"
Arsenal will open the campaign away at St. James Park on Sunday, but will miss the services of Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasnac.
