A bright start on Monday night ended as nightmarish for Manchester United at Old Trafford after being whipped 0-3 lost by  Tottenham Hotspur in their Premier League encounter.

Despite playing better than they did against Brighton last weekend, Man United failed to take advantage of the chances they created in the first half as Tottenham took charge in the second half to bang in the goals.

Jose Mourinho made six changes to his side that lost against Brighton in the hope of inspiring United to victory, but a series of missed chances in the first half and poor defending in the second half resulted in a second defeat in a row for United.

Goals Lucas Moura and Harry Kane helped Tottenham to a good win at Old Trafford

Goals from Harry Kane who seems to have abolished his 'goalless August' jinx, and a double from Lucas Moura handed Mauricio Pochettino's the perfect night at Old Trafford while it piled on the pressure and Mourinho and his United side.

Romelu Lukaku had three good chances to score in the first half but they were chances that went abegging.

Kane got their first with a bullet header on the 50th minute and Brazilian Lucas Moura doubled their lead two minutes later before getting his second minutes from time.

The Brazilian got his second on the night and the third for his side on the 84th minute, skipping past Chris Smalling to plant his shot beyond goalkeeper David de Gea.

This is Tottenham's fourth win at Old Trafford in 40 years as they maintained their 100 per cent record this season and lifted them to second in the table behind Liverpool.
