The head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Seth Hoffman, says the pitch at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi will decide the final result of their upcoming friendly against sworn-rivals, Asante Kotoko, on Sunday, August 26.
Yesterday, the former Heart of Lions coach in an interview with the club’s official website said: “The Baba Yara pitch will decide after 90 minutes, adding that his charges were ready for the battle.”
Since his employment by Hearts, Coach Hoffman’s side has been training daily, ostensibly to improve upon the fitness of the players, although the league is on break.
So far, he has been impressive, considering the team’s performances in the various friendly games played under his watch. He is hoping to replicate the same achievement when he leads the team to face Kotoko on Sunday.
Under his tutelage, Hearts won 2-0 against Liberty Professionals in a friendly at the Carl Reindorf Park at Dansoman, won 2-1 against Bechem United last month and drew 0-0 with Susubribi FC at the Rovers Park at Old Tafo-Akyem.
Sunday’s game, dubbed ‘Super 2’, is expected to attract a large crowd, especially with competitive football currently suspended following a ban by government since an investigative piece by Anas Aremeyaw Anas captured some referees and football administrators for allegedly taking bribe.
The Organising Committee of the Super 2 has confirmed that GH₵5.00 will be charged at the Popular Stand, GH₵7.00 for the Centre Line, while the VIP will attract GH₵20.00.
The second leg of the StarTimes-sponsored friendly will be played at a yet-to-be-announced venue and date.
