The Electoral Committee of the National Chapters Committee (NCC) of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has fixed June 1, 2019 as the election date for new NCC executive members at the Civil Service Auditorium at the ministries in Accra.
A statement signed by the chairman of the Electoral Committee, Mr Kester Ajao, listed the positions to be competed for as chairperson, vice and second vice chairperson, general secretary, deputy general secretary, national organiser, first deputy organiser, second deputy organiser, Public Relations Officer and its two deputies, and financial secretary.
The statement was, however, emphatic that while candidates contesting for the position of chairperson should be resident in the Greater Accra Region, that of the first and second vice chairpersons should come from the northern and southern sectors respectively.
It said irrespective of where one resided, they could still contest for the position of a third vice chairperson but indicated that the national organiser should reside in the Greater Accra Region, with the deputy coming from either Ashanti, Bono, Ahafo, Northern, Upper West or Upper East regions. It added that the second deputy national organiser should be a resident of either the Eastern, Volta, Central or Western regions.
It said the date for the registration of chapters, which started on March 19 with a fee of GH¢100 each, will end on April 30, with the filing of nominations which started on March 19, ending on April 19.
Vetting of candidates would, however, begin on April 23 and end on April 30.
