Kylian Mbappe is set to be dropped by manager Thomas Tuchel after the Paris Saint-Germain star criticised the team for having "no personality".

Mbappe was scathing of his team-mates after PSG were thrashed 5-1 at Lille on Sunday.

Despite the French champions being on course for their eighth Ligue 1 title, Mbappe said: "We're going to be champions but we cannot lose like this. It's not normal.

"We lack personality, it's one of our flaws, we have to correct this. We played like debutants."

Tuchel felt the comments were unnecessary and plans to leave Mbappe out of the league clash away at Nantes on Wednesday night. PSG would seal the title should they win.

"It is too easy to say, like Mbappe did, that we lacked personality,' said Tuchel.

"This defeat shows something else. We are missing in areas each time. On the contrary, this match showed our mentality, contrary to what everyone thinks.

"There were too many, too many [players] missing. To win here, we needed more quality. Looking at the circumstances, we had a good match."

Mbappe is also under the spotlight of referees in France after he said they weren't being honest when refereeing PSG games.

"This referee takes the Coupe de la Ligue from us, he takes our players from us, he takes everything,' Mbappe said after Juan Bernat was sent off in the 5-1 defeat.
