Three referees who have been officiating in the ongoing Normalisation Committee(NC) Special Competition have been placed on ice by the NC following accusations of bribery levelled against them after officiating a Day Eleven match between Ashantigold SC and Asante Kotoko last weekend.
The three Ali Alhassan, Mustapha Abdulai and Mohammed Issahaku have been temporary suspended with immediate effect according to a statement issued in Accra and signed by the Deputy General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Alex Asante yesterday.
The release issued further orders the referees committee not to assign the three referees with any matches. It added that their suspension is without prejudice to any decision to be taken by the Judicial Bodies on the allegation.
According to the statement the matter is being referred to the appropriate judicial body for further investigation in accordance with the GFA regulations.
