Former Black Stars midfielder, Sulley Ali Muntari, was in action for Accra Hearts of Oak as they beat Bechem United 3-0 in a club friendly at the Legon Ajax Park on Wednesday, July 25.
Muntari was introduced in the 53rd minute where he showed an impressive display to help the Phobians win emphatically with a brace from Kojo Obeng and a goal from Patrick Razak securing victory.
The former Inter Milan and AC Milan player has been training with Hearts for some time now as he looks to keep fit ahead of a possible deal abroad.
On Monday, Muntari reportedly handed out $100 to each Hearts player after training and followed up with food after training the next day.
The game was witnessed by some Hearts of Oak officials including Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, Mark Noonan, and Frank Nelson as they ex-Black Stars winger dazzled with his deft touch and incisive passes.
The 33-year-old Ghanaian is yet to join a club since ending his short stint with Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna at the end of last season.
After the game, board member of the club, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe congratulated the team for the spirited performance that ensured they beat Bechem United 3-0 in a game that witnessed a massive attendance.
He was also full of praise for Muntari for his gesture as well as his humility in coming to help inspire a local players at a time football activities had been halted in the country.
