Tunisian giants, Club Africain, have declined to confirm to Medeama SC whether striker Derrick Sasraku is a free agent or not.
The nimble-footed forward has been in Ghana since December looking for a new club after allegedly terminating his contract with the North African side.
Medeama SC, who are in the market looking for an attacker to partner Prince Opoku Agyemang, showed interest in Sasraku but the deal has almost hit a snag with the real status of the player yet to be known.
The Daily Graphic understands that Sasraku has no release letter from Club Africain and all e-mails, as well as phone calls to the Tunisian club to ascertain the real status of the player have been left unanswered as they are not ready to comply.
The Ghanaian club is, thus, on the verge of backing out of the deal as they believe in future they can be dragged by Club Africain to FIFA for the unlawful registration of the player.
Sasraku joined Club Africain from Aduana Stars on August 21, 2018 but failed to establish himself in the team after making a handful of appearances.
He was on the radar of both Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak before signing for Club Africain.
