The communications director of Asante Kotoko, Samuel Sarfo Duku, says the Porcupine Warriors are determined to make it a back-to-back win in the return friendly clash against AshantiGold at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi on Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors, who went into last Sunday's first leg on the back of two impressive wins over Accra Hearts of Oak, had to fight from behind twice in the game to beat the Miners 3-2.
Former Kotoko striker, Saddick Adams, opened the scoring for Ashgold on his return to the Baba Yara stadium but an excellent freekick from Sougne Yacuba levelled things up before the break.
The fans of Kotoko felt the presence of their former player, Eric Donkor, when he put the Miners back in front, before Yacuba added another goal to his name through a delightful header to restore parity.
Defender Wahab Adams scored the match winner for Kotoko later in the game.
Speaking to Asempa FM, the Kotoko spokesperson said the Porcupine Warriors would defeat their regional rivals again on Sunday. "We are going to beat AshantiGold again in Obuasi on Sunday."
He also revealed that Kotoko were eager and determined to beat AshantiGold in their own backyard to debunk claims that they only perform better at the Baba Yara Stadium.
"We are building a team that can win on every ground, so on Sunday we will beat them." said Mr Duku.
A win on Sunday will make it four wins in four friendly games for the Porcupine Warriors within a month.
