Kumasi Asante Kotoko stunned Nkana FC 3-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday in their forth Group C match in the CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
It was a sweet revenge for Coach C. K. Akonnor's charges who were subjected to a 1-3 defeat in the hands of the Zambian in Kitwe on Sunday February 24.
By this victory the Kumasi-based club have moved to the second spot with six points just behind Al Hilal who top the Group with seven points.
It took just four minutes for Kotoko to turn the heat on the visitors as Abdul Fatawu Safiu scored from a deceptive free-kick which goalkeeper Allan Chibwe fumbled into his own net.
By the 23rd minute the Porcupine Warriors have cushioned their lead when Emmanuel Gyamfi slotted home from a close range before Martin Antwi's long range effort from a free-kick in the 27th minute sealed the day for Kotoko.
After recess the host showed signs of increasing the tally but the Zambians were compact at the rear to ensure Kotoko were kept at bay from causing any further damage.
Both sides made a number of incursions into their vital area but could not utilise the chances until game came to an end.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko are expected to host Al Hilal in their next game at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday March 10.
