Premier League giants, Accra Hearts of Oak, have announced the signing of striker Daniel Barnieh Afriyie after the transfer window ended last Tuesday.
Hearts acquired the 18-year-old from lower-tier side Republicans of Academy and is expected to team up with Coach Edward Odoom side as soon as possible.
The youngster joins Richard Arthur, Abdul-Aziz Nurudeen, Frederick Ansah Botachway and Emmanuel Nettey who signed for the club ahead of the ongoing campaign.
Afriyie, who was part of the preparations of the Black Meteors squad ahead of the 2019 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, could provide more depth for the Phobians forward made up of Joseph Esso and Kofi Kordzi.
Hearts signed the forward after beating arch rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko who were interested in acquiring the signature of the youngster.
Having put pen to paper, Afriyie is set to miss Hearts clash away to WAFA at the Red Bull Arena at Sogakpe today but could make his debut when the Phobians visit Dansoman to lock horns with Liberty Professionals.
